Veteran Christmas

2020 has proven to be quite the year, and although it seems like it just started, Christmas is already right around the corner. While Christmas can be a magical and amazing time, it can also put a bit more stress on some families. This year, I’d like to do a little something, with your help of course, to help a certain group of people. From November 11th to December 11th, I will be donating 20% of my sales to the Mary T. Klinker Veterans Resource Center (check out MTK links below). This organization based in Lafayette, IN, helps homeless veterans and veteran families in need. They serve all Hoosier Veterans, focusing on housing stability and mental health intervention.

My family and I have personally made donations through money, clothing for the children of a Marine vet, and a bed and television for an Army vet. I’m not saying this for praise, but to help bring some awareness, and because we want to continue to help. As a Navy vet (married to a Navy vet), a mother, and someone who has experienced rough times, such as living in a woman’s shelter as a child with my mom and brother (story for another time), this organization is doing something that hits very personally.

My goal is that with your help, we can try to make the holidays a little easier on those veterans that they are helping, especially the ones with children. I’m running this through the 11th as a deadline to give the organization and veterans time before Christmas to receive the funds and be able to utilize them, but you are more than welcome to donate well after.

Everything you see on the “shop” page is for sale and will have funds going to them. It’s a perfect opportunity to do some Christmas shopping for your loved ones and friends, while also helping those who have served our country, as well as their families who have also made sacrifices.

If you don’t want to purchase any artwork, but donate directly to the organization, that is perfectly fine, and very much appreciated. My main goal is to help them and raise as much as we can, as they depend on donations and fundraisers so that they can continue doing the important work they do. Donations made to them (through MTK link below) are tax deductible, and I will include the info for that below. I hope you all will help me with this cause, and help my fellow vets and their families have a good Christmas. If you are not purchasing artwork and/or donating, I invite you to please share this so others can have a chance to participate, or check out their website and/or facebook.

Thank you all so much,
-Kena & Mary T. Klinker Veterans Resource Center
